Why we are different…

The college recruiting industry is becoming saturated with companies who are intent on assisting high school athletes move to the next level. These prove only marginally effective, however, because they dismiss the importance of that personal touch with families who are navigating the recruiting process. They find value in producing results via continuous, mass email campaigns in an attempt to expose players to programs across the country. While there is an alluring, mathematic element to the process – the more coaches who see your information, the better your odds of being recruited – there are inherent problems with that strategy. A “shotgun” or “throw the net out” approach is objectionable to college coaches; they receive email after email regarding players who are not good fits for their programs. Coaches become increasingly frustrated with this type of recruiting service. You can imagine how quickly a relationship with an esteemed college program would be severed if a recruiting service continued to promote one unqualified athlete after another.

As can be seen, it is vitally important that a family work with a company who has a personal relationship and is in good standing with each contacted college coach. ESN keeps its good standing with these coaches for a number of reasons: 1) we contact coaches only when we foresee a viable fit – academically as well as athletically – between player and college, 2) we work solely with players who truly are of a college level playing ability, and 3) we KNOW our clients so we can talk intelligently and passionately with the coach about EACH player. Using this approach, ESN ensures that our relationships will continue to thrive with college coaches. This is a big piece of the EXPOSURE picture that we seek to complete for each of our families.
