Alex Gast competed on a baseball team that was runner up in the city section finals held at Dodger Stadium. From there Alex attended junior college, where he played one season. Alex was given the opportunity to move on and attended Whittier College where he played his remaining years. He was awarded a Keck Fellowship and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Concluding his time as a student-athlete, Alex was selected to be an assistant coach at Whittier College. During his stint as a collegiate coach he helped bring up their fielding percentage, winning percentage and batting averages. Alex is active in local communities giving guidance to adolescence and parents. He hopes to combine his passion for baseball, business, and the youth by helping to navigate them into the collegiate level.
